Infinite Metaverse Alliance (IMA) emerged last year as community members began to discuss the future of Open Simulator and all of its derivatives. This began in September of 2016 and was formally organized in November 2016. Over the past six months, we've taken inputs from inside and outside the virtual worlds communities and put our heads together to develop this new kind of organization - a champion for the community built from the ground up and the middle out.

Near the end of our work getting all of the tools in place for the community, IMA sprung a leak when we opened our website for preliminary review... the media would wait no longer to announce the formation of IMA! Amidst the latest community statistics report, we found we'd been outed when we heard about this line "Infinite Metaverse Alliance launches to help share code and tools" in the article at http://www.hypergridbusiness.com/2017/02/february-monthly-stats-report-opensim-grids-gain-more-hypergrid-active-users/

So here were are, live and in virtual, welcome to our main website. :) We are excited to be here and hope you will join us and share your ideas about how we can work together to power virtual worlds, virtual reality, and synthetic environments into the future!

Our websites are still a work in progress as the IMA membership grows and provides inputs on where we need to improve our websites to share code and tools for working groups. Please let us know if you have suggestions or questions as we bring all of the tools online and get the event calendar live. We are currently managing and building fourteen websites, some with full-fledged web applications running. More are likely to come to support the IMA working group activities.

We are also entrenched in work on Test Grid #1 where we are testing our own implementation of the Open Simulator derivative Halcyon. If you would like to help out in that process, please join us! All testing is going well and performance is better than expected. We will likely launch Test Grid #2 very soon to prepare for load testing by the community.

We have a lot of questions coming to us from the media and we promise to get answers to you as soon as we can. :) Join Us!
